Landslip reported at Maracas lookout, single lane traffic in effect
Created : 26 November 2017
Engineers with the Ministry of Works and Transport as well as personnel from the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation Disaster Management Coordination are working to clear a landslide on the North Coast Road, just before the Maracas lookout.
The road is passable at this time, with one lane of the roadway clear to allow the free flow of traffic to the public.
The landslide was reported around 9 pm yesterday.
Clean up and restoration work began just over an hour ago and is continuing apace. Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan told LoopTT that officials on site do not foresee any additional challenges and expect debris to be cleared shortly.
Motorists are advised to be vigilant, proceed with caution and comply with instructions from law enforcement personnel at the site.
