Laventille man charged with firearm, ammo possession 

A 30-year-old Laventille man was due to appear before a Port of Spain magistrate on Thursday, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to a statement by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Michael Lawrence, of Trou Macaque, Laventille, was arrested by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force around 10:50 am on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

Officers were in the area investigating reports of a man 'acting suspiciously' in the vicinity of the Trou Macaque Plannings, Laventille when they saw the suspect. 

The suspect was stopped and searched and found to be in possession of one Glock pistol, with a magazine containing eleven rounds of .40mm ammunition. 

Lawrence was charged by PC Kendell Auld, of the Inter Agency Task Force.
