Laventille man dies during fight with relatives

The death of 65-year-old Ray McEachnie is currently engaging the attention of police.

McEachnie was killed on Tuesday morning during a fight with a male relative at this home along Picton Street, Laventille.

According to police reports, around 1 am, the two got into an argument that turned into a physical fight.

During this altercation, which spilled outside, both men ended up falling a short distance to the ground below.

However, McEachnie never got back up.

He was rushed for medical treatment at the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The 35-year-old relative who was involved in this incident has been aiding police with their inquiries since.
Loop News was told that due to the circumstances surrounding the case it has not yet been classified as a murder.

An autopsy is expected to be performed to confirm what caused the death of the 65-year-old.
