Laventille man slapped with gun, ammo possession charges

A Laventille man was expected to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on Monday, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

22-year-old Lennox Carr was arrested by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) during an anti-crime exercise around 7:10 pm on Friday.

Carr, a mason of Point Pleasant Park, Laventille, was at his home when officers executed a search warrant.

There, they found a Stoeger Cougar pistol, fitted with a magazine containing a quantity of 9mm ammunition.

Carr was arrested and later charged by PC Willis Licourish of IATF Fort Chacon Base.

Sgt Shawn Steele spearheaded the exercise.
