Law clerk shot dead during robbery at Gasparillo bar

A 28-year-old man was shot and killed during a robbery at a bar in Gasparillo on Monday night.

The victim has been identified as Kristian Sirjusingh of Happy Hill, Gasparillo.

Sirjusingh worked as a law clerk at a law firm in Chaguanas.

According to reports, around 8:30 pm the victim was at Michelle’s Bar, located at Happy Hill Gasparillo when three men entered the bar.

One of the suspects ordered a beer, before inquiring from the bartender if the casino machines were working.

The bartender informed the suspect that the machines were not working and that she was going to close the bar soon.

The three men then pulled out firearms and announced a holdup.

They relieved the patrons of their cash and valuables.

However, upon leaving the bar, one of the men suddenly shot Sirjusingh.

He was hit several times about the body and died at the scene.

Another man, who was near to Sirjusingh at the time, suffered gunshot injuries to his right hand.

He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated.

The scene was visited by a team of officers led by ASP Ali-Mohammed and Inspector Sookdeo.
