Founder of Lensyl Products Limited, Joseph Chendersane ‘Lenny’ Lall, has passed away at the age of 97.

The news was confirmed to LoopTT by General Manager and Lall’s grandson, Justin Lall.

Lall, the founder of local mattress company Lensyl, was well-loved by many both within the company and nationwide for his indelible contributions to his community and the business industry.

Lall created Lensyl Products Limited, a name derived from his and his wife Sylvia’s names, in 1962.

The company was the first to locally produce spring-filled mattresses and has been recognised as a leading name in bedding products for over 20 years

Within the first 12 months of the company’s operations, it was able to generate over $500,000 in sales – the company now exports throughout the English-speaking and Dutch-speaking Caribbean and is a key supplier of products for many industries throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

Lall also made significant community contributions, donating to many families and communities in need. Most recently, the company donated hundreds of mattresses toward flood relief efforts after thousands of homes were damaged by flooding in October 2018.

A biography titled ‘An Authorised Biography of Lenny Lall’ was published detailing the history of his prolific career and many contributions in 2014.
