LISTEN: Mr. Vegas launches GoFundMe for Hurricane Irma victims

Dancehall artist Mr. Vegas has launched a GoFundMe page for Hurricane Irma victims in the Caribbean. The international recording artist penned the single 'Adios Irma' in light of the catastrophic hurricane that has left some Caribbean islands in total devastation.

“Music and sports have always bonded us together as Caribbean people. Therefore, I wanted to make a song that will bring even a temporary smile and lots of donations to the Caribbean people affected by Irma” said Mr. Vegas.

About two weeks ago Hurricane Harvey swooped down on Texas, the most powerful hurricane to hit the state in over 50 years, killing approximately 60 people and forcing 30,000 people to flee to emergency shelters. Since then, there has been a lot of support from celebrities and public figures including the five living American ex-presidents.

Mr. Vegas believes that this gesture and song will create the same impact and awareness.

“The fund-raising effort is focused on people affected by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean,” he said. With a target of US$200,000, people are encouraged to give what they can afford by donating to GoFundMe.

He's also encouraging persons who are unable to donate to simply watch the video in its entirety and share the awareness with friends and family and let them know when they watch and listen to the song, they are contributing to the people affected by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean Islands.

“Your donations will be transparent and all proceeds from downloads, donations, pledges, and views will be donated to the Caribbean people, through the Mr. Vegas Foundation”.

'Adios Irma' is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and YouTube.
