Loaded firearms found on La Horquetta rooftops

Two loaded 9mm firearms were seized on the rooftops of abandoned homes during police exercises in La Horquetta.

According to police reports yesterday, the weapons, a Glock 9mm pistol and a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol, were both found on the rooftops of two abandoned buildings in Phase One, La Horquetta.

It is believed that they were being kept there by criminal elements to be used on later dates.

The weapons were seized by a team of officers from the La Horquetta CID, under the supervision of Snr Sup McDonald Jacob, with assistance from Sgt Waldropt, Cpl Bernard, PC Forde, PC George, PC Chow, PC Joseph, and PC Kokeran.

A total of 11 rounds of ammunition was also found.

No one was arrested for these finds.

The same party of officers also arrested one person for possession of 13grammes of cocaine in Phase Two, La Horquetta.

The two weapons were seized and are expected to be sent to the Forensic Science Center in St James to undergo ballistic testing.
