A loaded firearm was found and seized near the newly built Government Daycare Centre this weekend.
According to police reports, officers from the Central Division Task Force, led by Sgt Glen Persad and Cpl Leon Bassant received key information which took them over the weekend to Dass Trace, Enterprise.
At the location, which was said to be a short distance away from the Daycare Centre, the officials found and seized a .38 revolver, loaded with four rounds of ammunition.
The revolver, LoopTT was told, was wrapped in cloth, which was then placed in a wooden box which was buried in the dirt near a tree.
No one was held for the find.
However, Task Force officers are continuing to call for the cooperation between the police and the public, noting that this was the only way that a serious dent could be made on crime.
