Loop at the Movies: "HERO" biopic on Ulric Cross

"HERO: Inspired by the Extraordinary Life and Times of Ulric Cross" tells the story of one of Trinidad and Tobago's notable men.

Blending archival footage and dramatic reconstruction, the film focuses on Cross' contribution to the Pan-African movement, serving as an advisor to President Kwame Nkrumah in Ghana and President Julius Nyerere in Tanzania.

He is also recognised as the most decorated Caribbean national to serve in the Royal Air Force.

Premiering on Tuesday, "HERO" was directed by Frances Anne Solomon with Lisa Wickham serving as executive producer.

"HERO" stars a number of actors from across the Caribbean, Canada and Africa, such as Trinidadian Nickolai Salcedo, Joseph Marcell, best known for his role as Gregory the butler on the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and Ghanian-British actor Eric Kofi Abrefa.

Sommerleigh and Tracy explore the film--which got rave reviews at its premiere--in depth as well as the actors' performances.

"HERO" will screen at Movie Towne, San Fernando at 8.30 pm. on Monday, September 24.
