Robert Nelson aka Lord Nelson will receive a Lifetime Soca Award at Tobago Loves Soca weekend.

Tribute will be paid to Nello, as he is often referred as by Tobagonians and fellow calypsonians, at the inaugural weekend of fetes over the Valentine’s Day weekend, February 15 to 17 at the Canoe Bay Beach Resort, Lowlands, Tobago.

The TLS is being produced by Randy Glasgow Productions in tandem with Brothers with Vision Entertainment, one of the most successful event production outfits on the island. The overall weekend is intended to be a fun, sexy and anything goes getaway for couples and outgoing singles just wanting to mingle with other unattached adults, partying and playing for over 72 hours.

In a release, Glasgow said even at 88-years-old Lord Nelson continues to be the ultimate showman, still able to deliver energetic performances whenever he takes the stage.

"Nelson is considered a national treasure by Tobagonians, though he made New York his home decades ago. His calypsoes, especially, “We Like It,” “Disco Daddy” and “Meh Lover,” are played at every celebration in Tobago be it a wedding, christening or birthday party," the release said.
