For the fourth time in the space of a week, an earthquake has struck off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago.
The UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) reports that a magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck 72 km NW of Port of Spain around 4:28 am today at latitude 10.93N, longitude: 62.10W, and a depth of 10 km.
Tremors were also felt in Arima and San Fernando.
The SRC stressed that the event has not been reviewed by an analyst and is only a preliminary result automatically located by a seismological computational system. The result may vary when new additional data are processed.
Only yesterday T&T experienced a magnitude 4.5 earthquake, in which residents in various parts of the country reported feeling two sets of tremors. Earlier in the week, quakes of magnitudes 5.7 and 4.2 struck near T&T.
