Maintenance work to leave some in South without water

Planned maintenance work on the Navet Water Treatment Plant will leave residents in some parts of South Trinidad without water on Thursday.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) on Sunday advised that there will be an interruption in the pipe-borne water supply of those served by the Navet Plant between the hours of 8 am and midnight on Thursday.

WASA said the service interruption is due to planned maintenance works to be undertaken at the Plant.

Areas to be affected include:

Rio Claro, Tabaquite, Navet, Tableland, New Grant, Hardbargain, St. Julien, Indian Walk, Hindustan, St. Mary’s Village, Cunjal, Cumuto, Whiteland, Poonah, Piparo, Morne Roche, Princes Town, Manahambre, Iere Village, Buen Intento, Malgretoute, Williamsville, Barrackpore, Bronte, Borde Narve, Ste. Madeline, Friendship, Penal Rock Road, Diamond Village, Golconda, Esperance, Corinth, Cocoyea, Retrench, Palmyra, St. Clements and Reform.

Residents are reminded that it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled supply to normalise to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.

Customers can contact the Authority’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426 for further information or assistance.
