Man arrested, fined after stealing from employer
A 32-year-old father of three has been fined after stealing from his employers to make additional money.
Avron Grant, of Golconda, plead guilty to stealing seven vales from RAMCO gas company limited along Union Hall, San Fernando, on Tuesday morning.
Grant appeared before Magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.
PC Cocker was the complainant (charging officer) in this matter.
The State was represented by police prosecutor Sgt Cleyon Seedan.
The items stolen, were said to have a value of $380.
Grant was arrested around 9.50 am on Tuesday as he attempted to leave the compound.
However, when he saw security officers, he began to act in a suspicious manner.
A huge bulge was also observed in his pants.
As a result he was stopped and searched, and the stolen items were found on his person.
Grant plead guilty on his first court appearance and did not waste the court’s time.
He also expressed remorse for his actions.
After further submissions, the father of three was fined $500 and given 14 days to pay the fine.
If this is not done, Grant will face a default of three months hard labour.
