Man arrested for shooting at neighbour

A 23-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly shot at his neighbour. 

The suspect was held during a police operation on Saturday morning by officers of the Eastern Division’s Special Operations Team led by Corporal Ramnarine.

Police were told on the night of September 3, the 23-year-old man allegedly approached a man known to him.

There was a confrontation, following which, the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot at the victim.

The victim ran off and managed to escape injury.

However, he notified police of the incident.

Officers conducted inquiries and received intelligence which led them to a home along Blake Avenue Extension, Sangre Grande.

The ‘shooter’ was identified and detained.

Searches to the addresses he gave were conducted, however, no firearm or ammunition was found.

Despite this, the suspect was detained for the alleged offences.
