Man being questioned in connection with Arima triple murder

One man is in police custody being questioned on the deaths of three family members in Arima.

The three relatives, 39-year-old Damian Chunisingh, his sister Polly-Ann Chunisingh, 31, and their uncle Randy Chunisingh, 55, were all found dead on Monday morning. They had been strangled.

The 30-year-old suspect, who is from Pinto Road, Arima, was held on Tuesday during a police operation by officers of the Northern Division.

The bodies of the three relatives were all found at 8am on Monday in Randy Chunisingh’s home on Getwell Avenue, off Pinto Road, Arima.

Their bodies had also been bound.

Initially, based on the wounds that were observed, and the slight decomposition of the bodies, police thought that the three had their throats slit.

This was corrected by the post-mortem.
