Man charged after cannabis, cocaine found at residence

A 41-year-old man was charged after police executed a search warrant for illegal firearms and ammunition at his residence on Tuesday.

The items mentioned in the warrant were not found at the Plaisance Terrace, Laventille apartment.

However, 1.269 kilograms of cannabis along with 215 grams of cocaine were allegedly found at the residence.

Leon King, also known as “Toby” was arrested and taken to the Besson Street Police Station.

He was subsequently charged for two offences - possession of cannabis and possession of cocaine, both for the purpose of trafficking.

The exercise was supervised by Ag Insp Morales and coordinated by Cpl Phillips.

The search warrant was executed by PC Singh along with officers attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Canine Units.
