Arima man charged for murder of Tehilla St Clair

31-year-old Kester D'Abreo has been charged with the murder of 27-year-old mother, Tehilla St Clair.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said in an update on Monday that D'Abreo, a labourer, of Malabar, Arima, was charged with the offence following advice received from acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Angelica Teelucksingh, on September 9, 2018.

He was scheduled to appear before a Siparia Magistrate on Monday to answer the charge. 

St Clair was brutally murdered in front of her five-year-old son in Palo Seco on September 3 after she was attacked by a man known to her. 

She was chopped about the head and later died at the Siparia Health Facility.

Officers of the Santa Flora Police Station reportedly held the suspect near to St Clair's house shortly after the killing. 

Investigations were supervised by Insp. Darryl Coorie and Cpl Stephen Forbes, while, D’Abreo was charged by Cpl Henry Smith, all of Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 3, on Sunday September 9, 2018.
