Man charged with sexual assault of girl sent to St. Ann’s hospital

A Laventille man has been remanded to the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation and a report, after appearing before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Thursday charged with sexual penetration and sexual touching of a 13-year-old girl.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 18th in the St. Clair district.

Evans Julien, a PH taxi driver, of Picton Road, appeared before Magistrate Adia Mohammed, in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ 7th Court yesterday to answer to the charges.

The matter was adjourned to July 5th.

The accused was arrested by officers of the St. Clair Police Station, after being observed in the company of the minor in the district on June 18th.
