Man confesses to stealing alcohol, gets 11 months hard labour

A 25-year-old man was sentenced to 11 months hard labour after he pleaded guilty to larceny of alcohol.

Shaquille Alexander appeared before Sherene Murray-Bailey in the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Second Court on Friday.

The court was informed that around 10 pm on Tuesday, officers of the Tunapuna police station received a report of a robbery at a home along Moreno Circle, Golden View, El Dorado.

A quantity of premium alcohol, keys, and automatic gate controls, had been stolen, police were told.

A team of officers, under the supervisions of Sgt Ammon, Sgt Luke, and Cpl Ramjohn, responded.

The officers received intelligence which led them to a home along Lashley Street, Tunapuna, where Alexander was held.

He later confessed to stealing the items.

As a result, he was questioned before being charged and brought before the courts, by PC Smith.
