Man in court for making counterfeit currency

A man is expected to appear in the Arima Magistrate Court on Thursday, after he was arrested for making counterfeit currency.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the suspect was arrested by officers of the Arouca Criminal Investigation Department, with the assistance of officers of the Fraud Squad.

The exercise was coordinated by Cpl Ramsaran, PCs Ali and Charles of the Arouca CID and was conducted during the period Sunday to Wednesday.

Acting on information received, officers conducted enquires and formally charged Aaron John for three counts of making counterfeit currency under section 29 (1) of the Central Bank Act Chapter 79:02.
