Man in critical condition after La Romaine shooting

A 38-year-old man is warded in a serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital, after he was shot multiple times Tuesday.

The victim was seated on a bicycle along the Southern Main Road, La Romaine, around 4 pm when a silver vehicle pulled alongside him.

The victim saw a man he knows, who without any warning, pulled out a firearm and shot at the 38-year-old.

The vehicle then drove away, and the suspects escaped.

The police were notified and officers from the La Romaine Police Post responded.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was treated to gunshot wounds to his back and legs.

Inspector Persad and Sgt Williams, are supervising a team of officers who are continuing investigations.

Police say more than 15 spent shells were recovered at the scene.

As a result, police believe that it was the intent of the shooters to kill the victim.
