A 40-year-old man attempted to board a flight to Tobago with a round of ammunition in his wallet.

The accused, from Foster Road, Sangre Grande, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at the Piarco International Airport.

The accused was attempting to board the flight when he was searched by a Woman Estate Constable (WEC). While being searched, he was found to be carrying one round of 9mm ammunition in his wallet.

As a result, the suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

He was charged by WEC Wolfe and was expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate this week.

More on this as it becomes available.
