A 27-year-old man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Thursday on allegations of marijuana trafficking.
The accused, who is said to be from Mt Lambert, was arrested on Wednesday during a police exercise along Charlotte Street, Port of Spain.
During the exercise, which was conducted by officers of the Port of Spain City Police Task Force, led by Superintendent Charles, the officers had cause to stop and search the 27-year-old as he was standing near a DVD Store.
When he was searched, the suspect allegedly had in his possession wrapping paper, grinders, and a combined total of 300 grammes of high-grade marijuana, which were hidden in several cigarette boxes.
As a result of the find, the suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody.
He was questioned and charged by PC Legenere.
