Man held with handgun modified for shotgun shells

A 30-year-old man is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today for firearm and ammunition possession.

The suspect was held at 6.20 am on Wednesday morning during a police exercise by officers from the San Fernando Police Station and the Mon Repos CID.

A pistol, which had been modified to utilize shotgun cartridges, was found and seized at the man’s home at St Andrew’s Park, San Fernando.

As a result of the find, the suspect was taken into custody, questioned, and charged.
