Man loses $18K in cash, jewellery following Point Fortin burglary

Over $18,000 in cash and valuables were stolen from the home of a 47-year-old builder in Point Fortin.

According to police reports, the victim secured his home along Soomai Trace, Point Fortin, at around 9:30 am on Monday and left.

When he returned at around 2:30 pm, he noticed that his home was ransacked. A check revealed $15,000 in cash along with $2,000 in jewellery missing.

The victim made a report and a team of officers including WPC Williams and PC Jaghoo visited the scene.

Several persons were interviewed, and police are following certain leads with the aim of making arrests in the immediate future.
