Man on the run after stabbing cousin in the neck

Arima police are searching for a man who stabbed his cousin twice in the neck.

The suspect, police have been informed, is from Lawrence Park, Arima.

The victim, a 37-year-old man from Stephen Trace, Malabar, remains warded in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Complex up to Sunday morning.

The incident took place around 10.15 pm on Friday at the victim’s home.

Police said the victim was liming along the roadway near his home with relatives and friends when a disagreement broke out.

The argument became physical, and the victim and a man known to one another fought with broken glass bottles.

The other man eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed the 37-year-old twice in the neck.

He then fled the scene.

Witnesses raised an alarm and notified the police and the injured man was rushed to the hospital.

Police said that the victim had a punctured lung.

Officers are currently searching for the other individual involved in this incident.
