Man shot dead in apparent ambush in Cunupia

A 33-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Cunupia Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kawaldass Rambharose.

Residents of Gillis Trace, Mt Plasir Road, Cunupia, reported hearing a commotion, followed by several explosions around 8:30 pm. 

Upon investigating, they found a dark coloured car at the side of the roadway in a drain, with what appeared to be bullet holes on the vehicle.

A man was found suffering from bullet wounds.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the wounded man was rushed to the Chaguanas District Medical Hospital.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

From initial information, police believe that Rambharose was killed during an ambush.
