Man shot during Pleasantville robbery

A  36-year-old man is currently warded at the San Fernando General Hospital after he was shot during a robbery in Pleasantville.

At about 2.30pm yesterday, the victim, police said, had entered his Kia Sportage which was parked outside his home at Cedar Hill Drive, Pleasantville, when he was approached by an armed assailant.

The man announced a hold-up, however, the victim attempted to flee the scene by driving away.

The assailant opened fire on the car, hitting the victim in his leg.

The victim was able to notify police and drove to seek medical treatment.

The assailant, police said, managed to snatch a gold chain which was worn by the 36-year-old man at the time, but nothing else.
