Man shot while in his porch in Tableland
A 36-year-old man was warded in a serious condition at the San Fernando General Hospital after he was shot multiple times on Wednesday night.
The victim has been identified as Anslem Neptune AKA Bongo of Branch Monkey Town in Tableland.
According to police reports, at about 8.50 pm on Thursday, Neptune was seated in the porch of his home when he was approached by three men – one of whom is known to him.
Without any warning, one of the men pointed a firearm at the victim and shot at him several times.
The assailants then fled the scene on foot.
Neptune was shot multiple times about his body and sustained injuries to his both legs and abdomen.
The wounded man raised an alarm and the police and emergency health services were notified, and Neptune was rushed for medical treatment.
ASP Theodore-Persad, Insp Ramsumair, Sgt Sankar, Cpl Narine, and PC Ramkissoon, among several others, visited the scene.
CSI officers recovered one projectile at the location of the shooting.
Sgt Sankar is continuing inquiries.
