Man shot while hunting

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a 60-year-old man in Sangre Chiquito on Monday.

According to police reports, the incident took place around 10.30 am in a forested area off Gajadhar Road.

The victim went to hunt with a friend, during which the two separated.

The other party told police that he heard a loud explosion and upon investigating he found his friend bleeding from a gunshot wound in his upper body.

A mechanism which resembled a trap gun was seen nearby.

The injured man was immediately rushed out of the forest and an alarm was raised.

The injured man was rushed to the Sangre Grande District Hospital and was said to be in a stable condition up to Tuesday morning.
