Manhunt on after five-year-old girl allegedly molested
Police are searching for a 37-year-old man after allegations were levied against him this week that he committed sexual offences against a five-year-old girl.
The incident reportedly took place at the man’s home along Picton Street, Port of Spain.
According to police reports, the mother of the five-year-old girl left her child in the company of the man who is known to her, while she went away for a short while to conduct some personal business.
It was alleged that during this time, the older man took the five-year-old girl to a room in the home, where he committed sexual acts against the little girl.
He even allegedly threatened her and told her not to tell her mother.
Later that night, the child was picked up by her mother and taken home.
However, she told her mother what happened, and the older woman and the five-year-old made their way to the Belmont Street Police Station where a report was made.
The child was medically examined and officials from the Children’s Authority were notified.
More on this as it becomes available.
