Maraval man knifed to death during argument

The death of a 43-year-old man is engaging the attention of homicide police.

The deceased has been identified as Gerard Kevin Pascal of Unity Lane, Maraval.

According to police reports, around midday on Sunday, he was at his home talking to his 30-year-old neighbour when they had a disagreement.

This quickly became physical, during which police were told that Pascal struck the 30-year-old man with a cutlass to the back of his neck.

The 30-year-old secured a knife and stabbed Pascal once in the chest.

Neighbours who heard the commotion, notified the police and emergency health services, and the two wounded men were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital where they were treated.

Pascal, police said, succumbed to his injuries around 3 pm on Sunday.
