Martell signs Skinny Fabulous as brand ambassador

Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle wears many hats, and the musician, songwriter and singer has now added another - brand ambassador for Martell cognac.

At an intimate media conference at the Massy Distribution offices in Macoya on Friday revealed the St Vincent & the Grenadines native as the new face of Martell Cognac.

Massy Distribution, in partnership with Pernod Ricard, reintroduced Martell cognac to the Caribbean region in 2019.


Addressing the media, Denyse Poon-King, Brand Manager for Massy Distribution, said at the launch event, Ross Cabral, Head of Wine and Spirits at the company, committed to Martell supporting talents across various fields who ‘inspire others to push the culture forward’.

Poon-King said the brand was “looking for someone who had the passion to inspire; whose innovation and creativity and easily identifiable and present in their craft and whose boldness empowered curiosity”.

Skinny Fabulous, Poon-King said, represents all these things.

Speaking to the media, Doyle said he carefully considered the opportunity to become the brand ambassador for Martell, insisting he had to try the cognac before agreeing.

Recounting his first taste of Martell, he said it was ‘love at first sip’.

After the formalities, Doyle belted out a few improvised renditions of his most popular songs, incorporating the Martell brand name into the lyrics.
