Masked men steal safe, $4,000 from Guaico school

Police are investigating a report involving four masked men who broke into the Guaico Presbyterian School and made away with a metal safe and $4,000.

The incident allegedly took place on Monday morning at the school which is located along the Eastern Main Road, Guaico.

Police officers were told that around 2.45 am, security officers on the compound heard a loud noise, and upon checking, four masked men were seen entering the staff room area of the building.

The security guard then ran a safe distance away and called the police for assistance.

A team of officers from the Sangre  Grande CID, led by PC Khan, responded within a few minutes, however, that was enough time for the men to steal several items of value – including a metal safe, and $4,000 in cash.

PC James is continuing inquiries.

More on this as it becomes available.
