Massy Stores bans plastic bags for No Plastic Day
Massy Stores is doing its part to cut down on the use of plastic bags with No Plastic Day, a day commemorating environmental conservation through limiting the use of plastic bags which harm the environment.
On July 3, customers are encouraged to bring their reusable bags to take away their items.
"Caring for the environment is fundamental to everything we do. Join us on July 3rd for No Plastic day, a day to be cognizant of the negative effects of plastic on our environment," the company said in a social media post last month.
Customers are encouraged to bring their own re-useable shopping bags to carry their groceries. The company said reusable bags will also be on sale at their stores.
Customers who use their Massy reusable shopping bags will be awarded five Massy points, the company said.
