Massy Stores to open Siparia branch
Massy Stores said it will soon be opening a new branch in Siparia by the end of this month.
In a statement, the company said its Massy Stores Mini Supermarket located at 13 High Street Siparia and is currently in the final stages of completion.
The company said the convenience-focused store, will feature a curated offering of chilled and frozen foods, quality meats, fresh produce, liquor and more.
It will be the chain’s fourth location in south Trinidad, adding to the Gulf View, Marabella and Point Fortin stores.
The company said it recently also partnered with Siparia-based agricultural NGO, WHYFARM to donate hampers to over 30 families in the Siparia community.
In a statement, Roxane de Freitas, CEO, Massy Stores Trinidad, said the venture was done to help vulnerable families needing help:
'We know that the effects of Covid 19 were far reaching and many families were impacted. Working with WHYFARM we decided to focus on supporting families, particularly families with elderly members, by providing non-perishable foods as well as fresh produce, grown in Siparia, supplied through WHYFARM.'
She said: 'We’re also excited about this partnership with WHYFARM - an NGO aligned to food security and community development through agricultural partnerships, all areas which we are passionate about, embodied in our brand promise of Our Family Serving Your Family.'
WHYFARM founder, Alpha Sennon said the opening of the company's Siparia branch is a positive development:
