Maxi taxi driver remains hospitalised following bus route accident

The maxi taxi driver who reportedly blacked out while driving along the Priority Bus Route (PBR) in San Juan on Sunday, and crashed into a wall, is said to be recuperating.

Trinton Lopez Henry remains warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.

After his recovery, he is expected to be questioned by PC James of the North Eastern Division, who is spearheading inquiries into the matter.

Meanwhile, seven other passengers were injured in the accident and taken for medical attention but they have since been released.

They have been identified as Allan Smith, Renicia Goodridge, Romona Goodridge, Leron Phillips,  Lavern Caprita, Marva Campbell and Sandra Greaves.

Henry was driving the maxi west along the PBR when he allegedly felt unwell and fainted near the Aranguez Savannah.

The vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into the wall of a home.
