Maybelline brought the subtle fierceness of the New York City woman to Trinidad and Tobago at the brand’s product launch, hosted at House of Angostura on Tuesday, September 24. The global cosmetic giant invited a bevy of makeup artists and beauty bloggers to a chic NYC-themed brunch where its newest merchandise was revealed.

On-hand to educate guests about the products were Brydens Pi’s Maybelline Brand Manager, Desiree James; as well as International Makeup Artist for Maybelline, Jamie Ivan Martinez Soto.

According to James, this approach of engaging local tastemakers was implemented to “introduce influencers, beauty bloggers and makeup artists to the new products and give them the opportunity to interact with them.”

Maybelline has been coordinating influencer events internationally for some time, however, this was a first for the T&T market.

Professional makeup artist, Dedra Ruiz-Richards, of Makeup by Dedra attended the event and was impressed with what Maybelline has to offer.

“Maybelline as a brand has always embodied the idea that every woman can look her best,” said Ruiz-Richards, who uses several Maybelline products in her own daily routine. “The brand caters for all ages, skin types and skin tones...and they continue to impress me as they are becoming even more innovative with product development.”

A range of the new Maybelline Superstay products launched on September 24. 

Of the launch itself, Ruiz-Richards said, “I especially loved the fact that they brought together persons from all walks in the industry, from the very popular to the up and coming MUA's, the bloggers, the influencers - people who stand by the products.”

With a room full of makeup aficionados eagerly sampling products from their goodie bags, snapping selfies and sharing the exclusive experience on social media, James described the launch as “a huge success”.

Among the new releases are the most recent additions to the Superstay family of products - Superstay Full Coverage Powder Foundation; Superstay Full Coverage Concealer; and the Superstay Ink Crayon Lipstick that promises to deliver a smooth, crayon-easy application that lasts up to 8-hours.

Maybelline also unveiled three new hues in the Age-Rewind Concealer line that cater to darker skin tones.

Described by James as “an affordable brand with a professional finish,” Maybelline products are available at pharmacies and cosmetic stores nationwide.
