Member of Rasta City gang caught with firearm

A top-ranking member of the Rasta City Gang was held in Malick with a loaded firearm, according to police.

The 34-year-old man, who lives along Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick, was detained around 1.30 am on Wednesday, during a police operation by officers of the Morvant Police Station, led by Inspector Maraj and Cpl Halls.

The officers had cause to stop and search the 34-year-old during a police operation, and they allegedly found and seized a semi-automatic Glock Pistol, outfitted with a  full magazine, in his possession.

The suspect was immediately arrested and is being questioned for several offences.

Police are even conducting inquiries with the intent of utilizing the Anti-Gang Act, should enough evidence be unearthed.
