The late Wayne Jackson

The two men who were detained one week ago and questioned for any information on the death of superintendent of Prisons Wayne Jackson have been released.

It was precisely one week ago that the suspects, who are both in their 20s, were detained.

They were held and questioned at separate police stations in the Port-of-Spain Division.

Their arrests came just hours after cells at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca were searched and three cellular phones were seized.

A high-risk prisoner and others well known to him have since been kept under observation since that day.

Jackson’s funeral took place on Tuesday at the Bethel World Outreach Ministries in Arima.

He was shot dead in the driveway of his Malabar home.
