The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) is advising that activity associated with a tropical wave will be affecting Trinidad and Tobago on Monday with periods of rainfall.

In an update on Monday morning, the Met Office said there is also a medium to high chance of thunderstorm activity over few areas.

It warned that the risk of gusty winds and street flooding will be present.

Decreased activity is expected from late afternoon/evening, however a resurgence in showers and isolated thunderstorms is likely to occur during the early morning.

The Met Office said the approaching tropical wave also has a low chance to develop into a tropical storm, however any organisation or development will likely occur north of Trinidad and Tobago.

It added that Saharan dust is out of the picture for now, however a return is expected between July 8 and 10.
