The public is warned to be careful of long period swells affecting coastlines, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service.
The Met Office said in an update Saturday that these long period swells could be dangerous.
"Long period northerly swells are forecast to affect nearshore activity in northern and to a lesser extent western coastal areas. Effects are usually in the form of large breaking waves, which can cause disruption to sea bathing and other nearshore activity."
The public is urged to exercise caution if carrying out marine activities and to take all possible safety precautions.
