Met Office warns of northerly swells

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is advising the public of northerly swells along the country's north coasts over the next 48 hours.

The Met Office sent out a Yellow Level Hazardous Seas watch on Wednesday warning people to exercise extreme caution with all sea activities.

Long period northerly swells are due to affect Northern and Sheltered coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago. Large breaking waves are expected in nearshore zones.

Sea bathers, fishermen, and small craft operators should exercise extreme caution in or near the sea.

The Met Office said the public should make preparations to safeguard lives and property, follow the instructions of lifeguards and monitor official news sources.
