The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is warning of possible heavy showers, thundershowers and associated flooding from Wednesday morning into Thursday night.

The Met Office issued an adverse weather alert on Tuesday afternoon warning of adverse conditions from Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at 10:00 am, until Thursday, November 15 at 8:00 pm.

The Met Office said the event is associated with the passing of an Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) which is expected to intensify during this period.

Citizens are warned of periods of rainfall and thunderstorm activity, along with possible street/flash flooding.

The Met Office added that gusty winds and landslides/landslips are possible near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Citizens are urged to monitor weather conditions and official updates before heading out.
