Minister slams fake headline: Wicked meme

Culture Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly warned citizens not to heed an image circulating online which appears to be that of a daily newspaper.

The St Ann's East MP shared the images on Friday to social media, warning the public not to heed the fake headline.

"PLEASE NOTE- the photo at right is a MEME- a wicked and provocative mockery designed to poke fun at Tobagonians. The photo at left is the real headline of the Trinidad Express today," she said.

The Trinidad Express said it is seeking legal advice on the matter after the fake headline made the rounds on social media on Friday.

The headline claims that Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley spoke with reference to the sea bridge, showing the headline “Do like Jesus and walk on water".

The fake image used the newspaper's masthead and design.

The newspaper said it will seek legal redress.
