Minister's grandson reprimanded and discharged for drug possession

The grandson of Education Minister Anthony Garcia has been given a slap on the wrist after being arrested for marijuana possession.

19-year-old Damani Garcia was held with less than an ounce of weed on Wednesday.

This follows an anti-crime exercise in Bon Air Gardens, Arouca.

An Arima Magistrate let him off with a warning on Thursday after she said she didn't want to tarnish or jeopardize his scholarship.

The teen was ultimately reprimanded and set free.
