Ministry awaiting SDMS request on schools' handover
The Education Ministry has requested that the Santanan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) send official correspondence to the Ministry regarding the completion of two of its schools - the Roodal Moonilal Ramai Trace and Reform Village Hindu Schools.
SDMS Secretary General Sat Maharaj at an Indian Arrival Day function in Debe on Tuesday called on the Ministry to release the two schools to the Hindu organisation for completion, due to delayed works.
Education Minister Garcia said he was approached by a member of the SDMS board recently via a telephone conversation where the proposal was put forward to him, and he asked the board member to put this recommendation in writing so further discussions could be held.
However, Garcia said no official communication has been received at this time, therefore, the Ministry is unable to consider the request until this is received.
