Missing La Romaine taxi driver found dead
An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the cause of death of 53-year-old taxi driver Krishna Lalbachan.
Lalbachan was found dead inside his vehicle which was parked along the Uriah Butler Highway, near Caroni.
The body was viewed by a district medical officer, and there did not appear to be any marks of violence on his body, leading to investigators to believe that he may have died as a result of natural causes – suspected to be a heart attack.
However, an autopsy has been ordered to confirm this.
Lalbachan was reported missing on Saturday by his relatives after he failed to return to his George Street, La Romaine, home.
He was last seen around 5 pm that day, having received a phone call to pick up a customer.
He was found slumped against the steering wheel of his vehicle on Sunday.
Officers of the St Joseph Police Station are continuing inquiries.
