This was revealed by Education Minister Anthony Garcia during a conference at the Ministry on Tuesday.
Garcia said too often reports penned by pupils are incomprehensible. The Minister noted that the frequent use of technology, mainly the use of cell phones and computers, may be responsible for the little time pupils spend writing. However, he says the Ministry will ensure that this changes.
"There is a connection, psychologists have told us, between one’s handwriting and the cognitive development of our students and when we look at the majority of students who perform extremely well and we look at their handwriting, there’s a co-relation.”
The Minister said the programme will be launched soon noting that it requires the cooperation of parents and teachers.
